Using size 7 needles and sport weight yarn with 5 ½ stitches per inch, cast on 120 stitches.
Join for working in the round.
Row 1: k
Row 2: p
Rows 3-8: k
Row 9: *k2tog , repeat to end of round (60 stitches remain)
Row 10: purl

Continue knitting for 3 ½ inches. Start decrease rounds and transfer to double point needles:

Row 1: *K8, k2tog to the end from *
Row 2: Knit
Row 3: *K7, k2tog to the end from *
Row 4: Knit
Row 5: *K6, k2tog to the end from *
Row 6: Knit
Row 7: *K5, k2tog to the end from *
Repeat row 7 until you k2tog all the way around.

Break yarn and pull the end through the remaining stitches. Weave in all loose ends.
